AIDSinfo Updates “HIV and Pregnancy” Fact Sheets The AIDSinfo fact sheet series “HIV and Pregnancy” was recently updated. These easy-to-understand fact sheets are intended for women infected with HIV who are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant. The series was updated based on the latest version of the Recommendations for Use of Antiretroviral Drugs in Pregnant HIV-1-Infected Women for Maternal Health and Interventions to Reduce Perinatal HIV Transmission in the United States. NIH Launches New Website: NIH Clinical Research Trials and You NIH Clinical Research Trials and You, the new National Institutes of Health (NIH) website, offers the general public and health professionals information and resources about clinical trials. The website includes basic information about clinical trials, first-hand accounts from clinical trial participants and researchers, and information on how to find and participate in clinical trials. The website also includes educational materials in Spanish. Featured resources for health care providers include promotional materials to raise awareness of clinical trials and tips on how to speak to patients about research trials. CDC Releases New Fact Sheet: “Using Viral Load Data to Monitor HIV Burden and Treatment Outcomes in the United States” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released a new fact sheet: "Using Viral Load Data to Monitor HIV Burden and Treatment Outcomes in the United States." This fact sheet provides information on calculating community viral load, including common language for viral load measurements and information on estimating measures of viral load. Current challenges in calculating viral load measures and information on CDC activities that address these challenges are also detailed.
