On April 2, 2014, the Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Opportunistic Infections in HIV-Exposed and HIV-Infected Children was updated to include the alternative treatment dosing recommendation for amphotericin B deoxycholate for patients with invasive disease and to clarify the fluconazole dosing for children who have invasive disease and are not critically ill (found in the Candida Infections Dosing Table and in Table 3: Treatment of Opportunistic Infections in HIV-Exposed and HIV-Infected Children—Summary of Recommendations). Users should reference the Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Opportunistic Infections in HIV-Infected Adults and Adolescents for information on this patient population.
